The Grandstream DP730 DECT Cordless IP Phone is the executive model in the DP7 lineup, and its standout practical benefit is a large 2.4-inch display at 240×320 resolution that shows call information and the phonebook more clearly than a pocket handset, combined with support for up to 20 SIP lines when paired with a DP755 base station, or 10 lines with a DP752 or DP750. This combination of a large screen and high line count makes the DP730 a fit for a manager or staff member who needs to track more than one phone line from a single mobile handset instead of a fixed desk phone.

How the Grandstream DP730 DECT Cordless IP Phone Performs in Daily Use

The large color display runs on TFT LCD technology and is controlled through three soft keys and a dedicated Push-to-Talk button. The handset also carries a proximity sensor, which turns the screen off automatically as the ear nears the handset during a call to save battery, and an accelerometer supporting features like screen orientation or fall sensing. On audio, the DP730 delivers HD audio through the handset, the speakerphone and the 3.5mm headset jack alike, with support for 3-way conferencing on group calls. The battery is a 1500mAh Li-ion pack, rated for up to 40 hours of talk time and 500 hours standby — enough for a full working shift with margin for someone who occasionally skips an overnight charge. Coverage reaches 400 meters outdoors and 50 meters indoors.

Where Saudi Organizations Deploy the DP730

The high line count makes the DP730 a fit for executives who need to monitor a direct office line and a department or branch line from the same handset, without keeping two separate desk phones. In large hotels and healthcare facilities, a duty manager or medical supervisor uses the large display to read caller names and multi-line status quickly while moving between departments. Compatibility with Grandstream’s GDS-series door systems opens an additional use: the DP730 can link to a building’s audio or video door-entry system, so whoever carries the handset receives visitor calls from the main entrance on the same mobile handset without a separate device. This particularly benefits reception desks at residential or office complexes managing a single entry gate that want calls routed to more than one mobile staff member. The built-in fall sensor adds a further safety layer for a user carrying the phone while moving between floors of a large facility.

The DP730 Versus the DP7 Cordless Handsets

Unlike the DP72x handsets, built for lower per-unit cost across multiple units, the DP730 targets a single user who needs broader capability from one phone: a larger 2.4-inch display, multiple SIP lines instead of one, and proximity and motion sensors not found on the base handsets. This reflects a difference in purpose, not just price tier — the DP730 replaces a traditional desk phone for a mobile user, while the DP72x handsets replace a set of internal phones spread across a whole team. Choosing the DP730 fits a site that wants to equip a limited number of managers or supervisors with a high-capability device, rather than fitting a large staff count with matching handsets.

Deployment Notes for the DP730

The DP730 handset measures 168.5 x 52.5 x 21.8mm and weighs 180 grams, with a charging cradle measuring 76 x 73 x 81mm at 78 grams — larger dimensions than the DP72x handsets, in line with the bigger display. The device is certified to FCC, CE, RCM and IC standards, simplifying import and operation under local regulations. Updates run over the air, and the rated humidity range extends from 10% to 90% non-condensing. The box includes the handset, charging cradle, universal power supply, belt clip, Li-ion battery and a quick start guide, with a total package weight of 465 grams — heavier than the DP72x handsets, reflecting the larger unit and its expanded capabilities.
