Overview
The Grandstream DP760 Repeater is a wideband DECT coverage extender for sites where staff move beyond the useful radio reach of the primary base station. Its direct practical benefit is an additional 300 m of coverage outdoors or 50 m indoors while a call moves between coverage areas. The unit carries two concurrent HD calls, or one call when repeaters are connected in a daisy chain to cover a longer route. That makes it a coverage decision for a distant corridor, warehouse zone, separate wing, or outdoor service area, rather than a replacement for a user handset. An auto-sensing Ethernet port with integrated PoE also lets the network connection provide power, giving the deployment team more flexibility when the useful radio position is not close to an electrical outlet.
How the Grandstream DP760 Repeater extends coverage
The DP760 works as an extension of the DECT air interface and supports Plug-n-Play operation, automatic association, automatic region detection, and call handover between coverage areas. Those functions address both installation and daily movement: association reduces the setup steps at the unit, while handover lets a handset user cross into the repeated area without deliberately starting another call. The two-call concurrent capacity suits a coverage zone used by more than one mobile employee. Daisy chaining changes that operating profile to one call in exchange for extending the path through linked repeaters. Deployment planning should therefore start with the expected call traffic through the weak-signal area as well as its distance. A direct extension preserves the two-call capacity; a chained route prioritizes reach and carries a single call.
For voice, the repeater supports G.722 HD audio and G.726 narrowband audio. Five LED indicators report Power, Network, Association, Activity, and DECT Signal Strength, giving an installer visible checkpoints when selecting a position or investigating a service issue. The enclosure also provides a Reset button and a Pairing/Paging button for local service actions. On the network side, the DP760 uses one auto-sensing 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port and supports TCP, IP, UDP, HTTP, HTTPS, DHCP, DNS, SSH, TFTP, NTP, LLDP-MED, and the other listed operating protocols. Remote provisioning, status monitoring, and remote firmware upgrades allow ongoing administration after the initial visit. GDMS compatibility gives teams already managing Grandstream equipment a central route for those device tasks.
Where the Grandstream DP760 Repeater fits in Saudi facilities
In a warehouse, the DP760 can extend DECT service from an operations office toward a storage zone beyond the base station’s present reach, with the signal-strength indicator helping the installer assess the chosen point. In a healthcare facility, it can serve a corridor or wing where mobile staff cross between the existing and repeated coverage areas during calls. In an office or education building, it can address a remote floor section when the current handsets remain suitable but the radio footprint does not reach every work area. Open yards and service areas can use the rated outdoor extension of 300 m, while indoor layouts should be planned around the 50 m rating and confirmed on site because walls and the actual route still shape placement. Remote status monitoring is especially useful when technical staff oversee units across separate buildings or branches.
What distinguishes the DP760 deployment role
The DP760 is specifically a wideband DECT repeater, so its selection begins with a coverage map and the routes taken by handset users. If the endpoints already meet the workflow but calls lose radio coverage in a defined part of the site, the repeater adds reach without changing the device carried by each employee. Its value is therefore not a screen, keypad, or set of SIP accounts; it is the ability to bridge the existing DECT coverage toward the required area and hand a call across that boundary. Integrated IEEE802.3af Class 1 PoE, with a stated draw of 0.44W to 3.84W, supports placement near the network point chosen for radio coverage. Where PoE is unavailable, the universal supply accepts 100-240V AC at 50/60Hz and provides 5VDC at 1A. The site designer can therefore plan either a network cable carrying power or a network connection paired with local AC power.
The air interface covers DECT EN 301 406:2001, DECT GAP TBR22 EN 300 444:2001, DECT EN 300 700, and CAT-iq TS 102 527. Regional bands include 1880-1900 MHz for Europe, 1920-1930 MHz for the US, 1910-1920 MHz for Brazil, and 1786-1792 MHz for Korea, supported by automatic region detection. Channel counts are 10 for Europe, 5 for the US, Brazil, and Japan, and 3 for Korea. These details matter when matching the unit and its configured region to the radio rules applicable to the deployment. They should be treated as regional operating alternatives, not as bands intended to operate together at one site.
Deployment notes for the Grandstream DP760 Repeater
The repeater measures 28.5 mm high, 130 mm wide, and 90 mm deep, with a unit weight of 143 g. Those measurements let a facilities team check the intended space and cable route before installation. Its rated operating range is -10 to 50°C, storage range is -20 to 60°C, and permitted humidity is 10–90% non-condensing, so the conditions at the selected point should be checked against those limits, particularly in service rooms and warehouses. The power supply weighs 50 g and the complete package weighs 360 g, useful details when preparing a multi-unit deployment shipment or holding spare units. Once network and power are connected, the Power, Network, Association, Activity, and DECT Signal Strength indicators provide the first local status check, followed by remote monitoring for routine operation.
The box contains the DECT repeater unit, universal power supply, Ethernet cable, Quick Installation Guide, and GPL Statement. This gives the installation team the choice of powering the integrated Ethernet connection from an IEEE802.3af source or using the included supply where the network port does not provide PoE. The Quick Installation Guide supports the first on-site setup, while the GPL Statement accompanies the product documentation. Before handover, a practical commissioning check is to carry a live call along the route users will take, review DECT signal strength near the edge of the intended area, and record the unit’s location in the network plan so later monitoring, firmware work, and service visits map to a known physical point.
