Grandstream GRP2612W 4-Line Wi-Fi IP Phone

The Grandstream GRP2612W is a 4-line carrier-grade IP desk phone built around dual-band 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi, letting it register and place calls from a desk with no Ethernet drop nearby at all. Two SIP accounts route across four line keys and four softkeys on a 2.4-inch color TFT display, backed by 16 virtual programmable keys for extension monitoring or speed dial. Alongside Wi-Fi it still carries a wired 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port and supports both a bundled 5V power adapter and 3.8W 802.3af PoE, so the wireless connection is an added option rather than the only way to connect it, unlike the wired-only GRP2612G and GRP2612P.

Connecting the Grandstream GRP2612W Over Wi-Fi

Setup pairs the phone with a dual-band 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz wireless network, after which it handles two SIP lines through four physical line keys the same way a wired GRP26 phone does, with 3-way conferencing and HD audio on the handset and speaker. The RJ9 headset jack with EHS support for compatible Plantronics headsets lets a call be answered or ended directly from the headset, and the 320×240 display shows caller ID, line status and the softkey labels for transfer, hold and conference. Because the wireless radio removes the need for a nearby data point, the phone can be repositioned on a desk or moved to a different room without pulling a new Ethernet run.

Where the GRP2612W Fits in Saudi Offices

The GRP2612W fits Saudi offices where cabling a desk is impractical — a temporary project office, a renovated heritage building in Jeddah’s Al-Balad district where new conduit runs are restricted, or a meeting room added after the original cabling plan was finished. Retail counters and showroom desks that move seasonally benefit from a phone that can be relocated without an electrician or a cabling contractor, since it still works over PoE or its own adapter if Wi-Fi coverage is weak in a particular spot. Two SIP accounts and four line keys cover reception points and account desks that need to place, hold and transfer calls without a full contact-center feature set.

GRP2612W Compared to the GRP2612G and GRP2612P

All three GRP2612 phones share the same display, four line keys, 16 VPK keys and two SIP accounts, but the connectivity differs. The GRP2612G adds dual Gigabit Ethernet ports for a desk that also needs full-speed wired pass-through to a PC, while the GRP2612P runs on 10/100 Ethernet and PoE power only, with no adapter and no wireless option. The GRP2612W is the only one of the three with Wi-Fi, keeping the 10/100 wired port as a fallback alongside both PoE and its own power adapter, which makes it the right choice specifically where running or extending an Ethernet cable to the desk is the harder problem to solve, not the phone’s feature set.

Deployment Notes

The box includes the handset and cord, a phone stand, a 5V power adapter, a network cable, a quick installation guide and the GPL license documentation, covering both wired and wireless setup out of the box. Security matches the rest of the GRP26 family with user and admin password protection, MD5/MD5-sess authentication, 256-bit AES encrypted configuration, SRTP and TLS for call and signalling encryption, 802.1x network authentication and secure boot, and the Wi-Fi radio itself carries its own compliance marks for FCC Part 15.247/15.407, CE EN 300 328 and EN 301 893, and IC RSS-247/RSS-102 alongside the RCM AS/NZS 4268 wireless mark. Operating temperature is rated 0-40C, suiting typical indoor office conditions across the Kingdom. The phone measures 203 x 193 x 52.1 mm and weighs 554g alone or 936g as a complete retail package with the handset, stand, adapter and cables. It is rated for 10-90% RH non-condensing humidity and a storage temperature range of -10 to 60C, covering both active desk use and periods in a warehouse before a wireless rollout is scheduled.
