Overview
The Grandstream GHP611 IP Hotel Phone is the simplest model in the GHP61 family, reaching its coverage-and-price balance by relying entirely on Ethernet connectivity and PoE power instead of a wireless link or a separate power adapter. The unit connects exclusively through a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port with integrated PoE Class 2 power, and no universal power adapter ships in the box, meaning deployment requires a PoE-capable network switch reaching every room. For a hotel that has already wired full PoE infrastructure and wants the most affordable, reliable room phone without paying for wireless features it will not use, this is the problem the Grandstream GHP611 is built to solve.
How the Grandstream GHP611 Performs Day to Day
The GHP611 shares most of its functional capability with the rest of the GHP61 family: two SIP accounts, 3-way conferencing, wide-band HD audio through a single handset, and a 23-key layout with 3 programmable keys, 12 digit keys, 5 function keys (Flash, Redial, Hands-free, Voice Mail, Hold) and 3 volume keys. It supports the same audio codecs — G.729A/B, G.711, G.726, wide-band G.722, G.723.1, iLBC and full-band Opus — with voice activity detection, echo cancellation and automatic gain control. The casing carries the same antimicrobial coating to ISO 22196:2011, and the base is wall-mountable. The one substantive difference is the complete absence of a Wi-Fi radio from the design, meaning connectivity depends entirely on the wired network port.
Where Saudi Hotels Deploy the GHP611
The GHP611 fits hotels and resorts that invested in full PoE cabling across every guest room during construction or renovation, where a wireless link at the room level serves no practical purpose. The black finish suits darker room decor or modern neutral-toned furniture. Omitting the power adapter from the box lowers bulk purchase cost for a large hotel project outfitting hundreds of rooms at once, provided PoE is already reaching every installation point. Multicast paging, E911 support and GDS door-system compatibility all remain available despite the lack of Wi-Fi, since these features run over the same wired network. This makes the GHP611 a fit for a hospitality operator running a centralized purchase for a large number of similar rooms who wants to reduce inventory complexity by skipping an accessory it does not need.
Positioning the GHP611 Within the Family
The GHP611 is the lightest and simplest model in the GHP61 family: unit weight is just 300 grams, lighter than the other two models, and package weight is only 445 grams because no separate power adapter is included. Teams that need wireless connectivity for rooms without a dedicated network drop, or want a power adapter included in the box, will find two other models in the same family, in white and black finishes, that provide both. The GHP611 remains the better fit when PoE infrastructure is already in place and the goal is the lowest cost and simplest purchasing process for a large number of matching units.
Deployment Notes for the GHP611
The GHP611 body, measured with the handset, is 211 x 53 x 44mm — the same dimensions as the rest of the family — with a unit weight of 300 grams and a total package weight of 445 grams. The rated operating temperature runs from 0°C to 40°C, storage from -10°C to 60°C, and humidity from 10% to 90% non-condensing. A 15-second fast boot reduces service downtime after a power interruption. Mass provisioning through GDMS, TR-069 or encrypted XML files allows a large number of units to be configured at once, particularly relevant for a project outfitting hundreds of matching rooms. Each unit’s box includes only the phone, the handset with its cord, the base and a quick installation guide — no separate power adapter, a lighter and simpler package reflecting the unit’s full reliance on PoE power.
