Overview
The Grandstream GRP2670 is a carrier-grade IP desk phone built for users who handle a heavy volume of concurrent calls from a single desk. Sixteen SIP accounts and 48 virtual programmable keys give a receptionist or dispatcher enough line and BLF capacity to monitor an entire department without a separate expansion unit, though a GBX20 module can still be attached when even more keys are needed. The 7-inch capacitive touchscreen, running at 1024×600 resolution, replaces the small monochrome screens found on lower-tier desk phones with a full graphical interface for call handling, directory lookup and menu navigation. Integrated 802.3af PoE, dual-band WiFi 6 and Bluetooth mean the GRP2670 can be deployed on a single Ethernet drop or fully wirelessly, which matters on retrofit floors where re-cabling every desk is not practical.
Call Handling in Daily Use
Day-to-day, the phone’s 16 lines and a 2000-entry phonebook and call log let one handset represent a full department’s numbers instead of routing everything through a single trunk. The nine dedicated function keys — message with LED indicator, transfer, headset, hold, mute, send/redial, speakerphone and volume — sit alongside the five navigation keys so common actions do not require digging through touchscreen menus. Full-duplex HD audio with Noise Shield keeps five-way conference calls intelligible in open-plan offices, and both RJ9 EHS (Plantronics-compatible) and USB headset support let staff who are on calls most of the day switch to a headset without losing hold, transfer or hands-free functions.
Telephony features cover call hold, transfer, forward, park/pickup, shared-call and bridged-line appearance (SCA/BLA), hot-desking, auto answer and click-to-dial, alongside XML and LDAP directory lookup for pulling contacts from a central address book instead of dialing numbers by hand. In-band and out-of-band DTMF support keeps IVR menus and voicemail systems working correctly across different carrier setups. The phone measures 267 x 220 x 82mm and weighs 1.1kg on its own, 1.65kg boxed, and carries FCC Part 15/68, IC RSS-247, CE EN 55032/55035/62368-1 and RCM compliance markings.
Where the Grandstream GRP2670 Fits in a Saudi Deployment
The combination of high line count and a touchscreen directory suits front-desk and operations roles in Saudi facilities where a single phone fields calls for several departments — corporate reception areas, hospital front desks, and security operations centers that need to see caller and queue information at a glance rather than scroll through a small display. Dual switched Gigabit Ethernet ports let the phone sit inline with a desktop PC on the same cable run, which simplifies wiring in older office buildings being converted to VoIP, while integrated PoE removes the need for a local power adapter on desks where an outlet is impractical. The WiFi 6 radio also gives IT teams a wireless fallback for desks in renovated spaces where a data point was never pulled.
Positioning Within the GRP26 Series
Not every model in the GRP26 series ships with PoE built in — some pair with an external injector or run on the bundled power adapter alone — but the GRP2670 carries 802.3af PoE integrated into the unit, letting it draw both power and network from a single Ethernet run. That, combined with its 16 SIP accounts and 48-key panel, places the GRP2670 at the high-capacity end of the family, built for desks that need to answer for a whole team rather than a single extension. GBX20 expansion module compatibility carries over from the rest of the series, so sites standardizing on GRP26 hardware can still add extra key modules to the specific desks that need them.
Deployment and Provisioning
The GRP2670 provisions through GDMS, TR-069 or AES-encrypted XML profiles, letting IT teams roll out configuration to many units centrally rather than programming each phone by hand, and firmware updates pull over FTP, TFTP, HTTP or HTTPS. Secure boot with dual firmware images and 256-bit AES-encrypted configuration protect the device against a corrupted update leaving it unusable, while SRTP, TLS and 802.1x support cover call encryption and network authentication for organizations with stricter compliance requirements. The phone ships with a stand offering two angle positions and is wall-mountable, and its dual auto-sensing Gigabit ports with 802.3az energy-efficient Ethernet keep power draw down, at a maximum of 6.5W, through a full working day on the desk.
