Overview
The Grandstream GDS37XX-CARD RFID cards ship as a pack of 100 passive access cards operating at 125KHz on the TK4100 protocol, designed for use with the card readers built into GDS37 family door stations such as the GDS3710, GDS3725, and GDS3727. Each card carries 64-bit read-only memory, the standard capacity needed to store a unique identifier per card without additional programming. This pack is not a door station and contains no active electronics; it is a card made from PVC and ABS with a laminated PVC surface, needs no battery or power supply, and reads only when brought close to a compatible reader.
Grandstream GDS37XX-CARD RFID cards in practice
The effective read range is 2 to 15 centimeters, which requires a cardholder to deliberately present the card at the reader rather than triggering entry from a distance, reducing the chance of an accidental read. Each card is rated for more than 100,000 read cycles over its life, enough for years of daily repeated use at a workplace or residential compound. The card measures 85.5mm x 54mm x 0.93mm with a ±0.5mm tolerance, the standard ID or credit-card size, so it fits easily into a wallet or a card holder. It is rated for a -20°C to 55°C operating range and a -20°C to 80°C storage range, wide enough to carry in a bag or vehicle without heat damage being a concern.
Where this pack fits on a Saudi site
A 100-card pack suits a site expanding an access system or onboarding new staff or residents at a compound, without ordering individual cards each time. It also works as a restock for replacing lost or damaged cards at sites already running GDS37 door stations with a 125KHz reader, such as the GDS3710, GDS3725, and GDS3727. Because the card is passive and needs no power, there are no climate-related operating limits beyond storage within the stated temperature range.
Positioning within the GDS37 family
Unlike the door stations in the family, the GDS37XX-CARD is a consumable accessory with no camera, speaker, or communication function of its own; its sole job is to store an identifier that a compatible door-station reader can read. It works alongside the GDS37XX-RFID-RD desktop reader to enroll new cards into the system before they are handed to users. On operating frequency, these cards work directly with the 125KHz reader on the GDS3710, while the GDS3725 and GDS3727 accept this same 125KHz card alongside a higher-frequency alternative, since their reader supports both.
Ordering and stock notes
The cards ship as passive units with no active electronics, meaning there is no battery to run down or circuit to fail over time; the only likely failure mode is physical damage to the card body itself. Each identifier is fixed at the factory on the 64-bit read-only memory, so a site needs no on-site programming or encoding step before handing cards to users. Ordering a full 100-card pack in one purchase suits a project expanding its access system or building a replacement stock for lost cards over the coming period, rather than placing repeated small orders.
